How to export BES IT Policy?

Is there a way to export selected IT policy from one BES server & import it to the other ?

Coz in BB Global domain properties & under "Service Control & Customization" tab, it does have a facility to import IT Policy Definitions,

which looks out for an .xml file to import from.

This shall help in configuring the desired IT policies on a BES server, without going into each individual items !

Re: How to export BES IT Policy?

Check out the BES Resource Kit.

There is an import export IT policy tool in there.

I think RIM only support it from 4.1.5 onwards but this tool has been around in RIM for a while.

Good luck

Re: How to export BES IT Policy?

Thanks ... could you help me with the correct version of BES Resource kit for BES 4.1.5 for Exchange 2007 ?

Though I was able to download the latest version (4.1) for the same, just could not figure out how to install & start the program !!! :smileysurprised:

Besides, I've created a new IT policy for our BES organization & wish to have it applied for any new user added there (instead of the default IT Policy being applied to all the newly created users).... how can I achieve this ?

Ahhh, you cannot.  Default is default and is the default.

Re: How to export BES IT Policy?

Hello Andy ... the tool did work & I was able to import & export the desired IT Policy .. But 1 thing that baffles me is the option to import the IT Policy definitions from the BB manager (from an xml file). How can we export the policy to an xml file using this tool ?

Is it possible to list down all the policy options in a csv or xls format ?

I don't know how to export as XML.

To list all of the options in policies use the BES User Administration Service / Client.  Install the service and then you can use the client to export the settings as txt/csv
