Required Permissions on old BES-Envirnoment for BE-Transporter

Hi,

i have a question regarding the required permissions on the old BES-Environment when I have to migrate the BB-User to a new BES 5.0 Server.

What specific Rights are required to move the User?

Thanks in advance!

Just needs to access the BESMgmt database IIRC.

Re: Required Permissions on old BES-Envirnoment for BE-Transporter

Hi,

but the Transporter Suite Tools deletes the old User on the old BES, so we need a few permissions to do this, right?

The Problem is, the old environment is not in our company and we don't get to much permissions :smileywink:.

So i have to point out the explicit permissions we need for the move...

Thanks!

You need access to the database to do it. BES is database driven.

Example:

you can drop user from database using the following:

1. Open command prompt
2. Type "osql -E"
3. 1>use BESMgmt
4. 2>go
5. 1>delete from userconfig where mailboxsmtpaddr=''''
6. 2>go

Re: Required Permissions on old BES-Envirnoment for BE-Transporter

On the Transporter Suite i have to set 2 Accounts:

- One for the OLD Database and

- One for the NEW Database

But i dont get a FULL BESADMIN on the OLD Site. So i need a slim User on the OLD Database, who have only such permissions wicht needed to do a User-Move from the OLD to the NEW BES.

Do I need Owner-Rights on the DB, or Read/Write ? Are special rights needed?

Thanks
