Torch 9800 doesn't receive all attachments

We have a BES server 4.1.6MR1 (Rollup) (Bundle60), a user has just had a new Torch 9800 device and is complaining that they are not receiving random attachments of different types and from different people (zip,pdf.doc.xls) but they appear in there Outlook. Whenever I have tested this and it always works!

 

If I enable any logging on my server would this show me anything? and how do I do it? Where would the resulting logs be?

do they appear in outlook under mailbox or personal folder?

They appear under the outlook mailbox.

If you have the user view the email in plain text does the attachment show up? If so it sounds like an issue with HTML emails that rim has addressed.

I have the same problem with 3 out 3 Torch. Using BB Enterprise Server 4.1.7 MR3 (Bundle 52). Don't know if it will help to upgrade to later versions on the BB Server.

In my inbox on the Blackberry - Options - email preferences and un-ticked "Enable HTML Email". Then I received all the attachements. Later on I enable HTML again and can still see all attachements. Dosen't matter in which format the email is sent. Hopefully is solved now.

bbhorrigan, could you link me to info you have on this?  I cannot find any articles from RIM on this matter.

 

I just wanted to register and follow up on this issue - I experience the exact same problem with my user who just got a Torch (we are using ExchangeMyMail's Hosted BES for Google Apps).

 

Does anybody know why this is or can point me in the right direction?  It seems like a huge shortcoming that a customer can pay good money for supposedly a 'best-of-breed' smartphone and then have to give up HTML email just to view attachments.

Is the operating system on the device up to date?
