Upgrade 4.1.2 (Bundle 47) to SP6

Hi,

I'm a newbe to this.

We have only 8 BB users on our server.

4.1.2 (Bundle 47) for Exchange 2003.

I'm looking to bring it up to date with SP6 first, then MR5 + the PDF patch.

(We can't spend megga amounts going to v5 for only 8 users!)

I've looked through the Upgrade Guide for 4.1 SP6 which basically says double click setup, complete the instructions on screen, restart when prompted, then complete the instructions on screen after logging in again.

Not very detailed!

Anyone got any advice on how smothly this should go, how long it should take (down time for BB users) or anything else I need to do or be aware of before attempting this??

Cheers,

Anthony.

Re: Upgrade 4.1.2 (Bundle 47) to SP6

Log in as BESAdmin or you service account name.

First backup the database!

then stop all BES services and SNMP too.

then run the updates.

When I did 4.1.4 to sp5 and then to SP 6 it never took more than 20 minutes to complete.

Let your users know when and let them know it could be up to an hour, If less they will be happier.

Make sure you have a copy of your install files because many times it will ask for it.

Also apply all to remote Blackberry manager if you are using it.
