Upgrade BES 4.1.7 to BES 5.0.4 (with migration to new server)

Hello,

we have a customer who has a:

physical server - BES 4.1.7 for GroupWise (on server Win2003 64bit)

new virtual server with Win2008R2 64bit

Customer has license on upgrade. SRP key and licenses are same for 4.1 and 5.0

Question is: What is the best path to migrate/upgrade BES 4.1.7 to BES 5.0.4 ???

Can i use same SRP key for 4.1 and 5.0 and use BES transporter. ?

It's serious Customer (Ministry) and i need minimal downtime.

Regards,

Milan

You cannot use the same Key, but you can use a trial (60 days) and replace that later on the destination server with the old one when you turned that one off.
If you have a T Support contract with BlackBerry you can ask BlackBerry for a migration kit. You will get a new SRP key and your old one will expire after 90 days.
