Hi,
We're experiencing high MAPI utilisation on our Exchange environment by our BES system and would like to find the cause & hopefully reduce it.
Environment details:
BES Server:
BES 5.0.3.31
Windows 2008R2 Standard on VMWare 4.1, 1 vCPU, 4GB memory
Exchange:
Exchange 2010 SP1, Rollup update 4v2
CAS Server: Windows 2008R2 SP1 on VMWare 4.1, 2 vCPU, 6GB memory
MB/HT Server: Windows 2008R2 SP1 on VMWare 4.1, 6 vCPU, 32GB memory
Our monitoring regularly reports average response time on our CAS servers in excess of 8000 ms.
After running the Exchange Performance Troubleshooter it is reporting that our BES account is utilising 75% of MAPI CPU utilisation.
Further reports indicate BES issuing 28 MAPI ops/sec and MAPI operations taking 120 seconds.
The end result is that users are now experiencing performance issues with their Outlook clients.
Our BES installation is 'Out-of-the-box' so I am sure there are some configuration tweaks that we could implement to reduce the load the BES server is putting on our Exchange environment.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi cpf,
I got a thread from another forum for you.
It helped me very much during my setup:
Please check for Step 5.
I suspect that this might be missing in your environment.
Cheers,
Alex

Hi Alex,
The link you supplied was the same installation procedure we followed during our installation so we have the custom throttling policy set for our BES account, but thanks anyway ![]()
