Hi all,
I've been working on an install of the above and foolishly (like many others before me) I started the install with the Domain Admin account rather than the BESAdmin account I created.
I'm past the point of no return now as I can't uninstall the software, as the install hasn't completed yet. The issue I am having is that the install fails on the final stage when starting the Services with the error message:
"SQL Query Failed - See Logs for more Information"
I have consulted the log and also some support forums on the issue and the following error seems to be causing the problem:
Failed to update the mdscs server name to the imagepath [30000] (02/08 16:41:00.117):{0x1B48} <6>Feb 08 16:40:59 LABSERVER {0x2598} 1519: (#40000) [PIPTOOL]: MDSCS update Imagepath function returned 4
The above is an extract from the latest log. I've tried to hunt down the MDSCS Service but it is nowhere to be found, and I have added BESAdmin permission to the Services Registry Key as I've seen in a support forum post but to no avail.
My main aim is to complete the install, and then remove BESE and SQL Express and start from the top with the correct username.
Failing that - is there a way to remove the software now so I can start from a fresh? I'm guessing this would involve precarious work in the registry, so it would be a last resort for me.
Any advice is welcomed, many thanks.
Chris

Follow the Blckberry Administrator guide, in the last chapter you have to find out " How to uninstall the BES applicaions and registry entry."

Hi Dhaval,
Many thanks for your reply - the BES Admin Guide will be my first port of call when I arrive on site next.
Does the removal guide work for installations that haven't fully completed such as mine?
Thanks for your help,
Chris
