Accepted Solution

Change SQL Server + Web Portal not loading.

A Few Problems.

Please review picture attached.

Orange - I am unable to change the SQL Server. The Database is fine however I need to be able to change to another server.

Yellow - None of the web-page interfaces will load

Red - The Services are not being loaded into memory completely this is probably causing the Yellow problem

Any Help much appreciated.

Thank You,

Did you follow this KB when you moved SQL?

KB03112 - How to move the BlackBerry Configuration Database to a new Microsoft SQL Server instance

Re: Change SQL Server + Web Portal not loading.

I did not follow that guide however the Support Technician over the phone had performed several of these functions. Everything is working fine except he pointed this to the old server and not the new server. I had mentioned it but he stated it had to be done this way, so with my inexperience with such a migration I may have mis communicated the correct server. However if I can just change this one item. Then everything will be fine and I can take down the old server.

Re: Change SQL Server + Web Portal not loading.

It looks like in order to fix Orange, I must first fix Yellow/Red. I have reviewed the KB you gave me in further detail. However I do not have access as per the Yellow/Red issue.

Re: Change SQL Server + Web Portal not loading.

Well thank you for that! Orange is now fixed and connected to the new Database. Now Problem Red and Yellow. These services seem to stop around 130mb however BES Support said for the Web Management to load the service generally needs to be around 700mb in ram. Is there a way to force this?

Re: Change SQL Server + Web Portal not loading.

Well, Looks like there was a conflict with the BES server and the old server. Had to detach and move the proper database to the BB server. After a restart about 30min, the BAS came up and now is fully functional. Thank you for your assistance. It would have probably taken me another week or two to start poking around in the registry for BES confidently.

Re: Change SQL Server + Web Portal not loading.

Has RIM still not changed this.  I am moving my database today to a different SQL server and had to do this.  This does not makse sence.  RIM needs to have an option here.
