Desktop email program was unable to submit message (with the red X)

Dear all

 

Last week we upgrade our exchange server with below updates:

 

  • Exchange Server 2003 Security Update for Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 2 (KB931832) - Non-cluster  Thursday, February 10, 2011 Microsoft Update 
  • Exchange Server 2003 Security Update for Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 2 (KB959897) - Non-cluster  Thursday, February 10, 2011 Microsoft Update 
  • Exchange Server 2003 Security Update for Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 2 (KB950159) - Non-cluster  Thursday, February 10, 2011 Microsoft Update 
  • Exchange Server 2003 Update for Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 2 (KB926666) - Non-cluster Thursday, February 10, 2011 Microsoft Update 
  • Security Update for Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 2 (KB976702) - Non-cluster Thursday, February 10, 2011 Microsoft Update 

After that our blackberry server stops working properly. It can only deliver the emails to the users. When a user is trying to send an email is getting the below error: Desktop email program was unable to submit message (with the red X)

Server Info:
1. Exchange Server: Windows 2003 SP2 R2 (Fully update)
Exchange Version: 6.5 (Build 7638.2 Service Pack 2)
2. Blackberry Server : Windows 2003 SP2 R2 (Fully update)

Blackberry manager:  BlackBerry Professional Software Version:  4.1.4.3
Exchange Version: 6.5 (Build 7638.2 Service Pack 2)

 

We search your blackberry support forum and we found that the above error is related with the Send As permission in the exchange server. We follow your solution step by step win no success.

 Our send as permissions are enable from the global OU.

Also the users have the send as permissions

do you have inheritance enabled for send as in the OU?

Yes it is inheritance. We check our settings to see if they are correct from the blakberry documentattion and they are ok

 

Users can received email but they can not send.

Below are my commnets regarding you link

 

We use the send as permission tool and we get Fail

We check them one by one with no luck

Our settings are the same as the video below

Have you tried to restart teh BES server?

 

Please look at the MAGT log after restarting it.

 

default location :\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerryEnterprise Server\Logs

Also look in event veiwer to seef if any errors or warnings pertain to your issue

Please post back the log info minus personal info
