Network monitoring between BES server and blackberry

Are there any tools or software available that can monitor status of messages after they have left BES server?.

I know you can monitor messages and see the message being played through on the BES console but the

console will not report any issues with the RIM network or tell you if the mobile phone is suffering any service problems. I am looking to see if there are any tools/software or whatever available to help troubleshoot problems that occur in the "black hole" in the middle.

In other words once it has left my network, how do I know it was actually delivered to the blackberry device( from an IT administrator) perspective

Any answers appreciated.

Re: Network monitoring between BES server and blackberry

Send a message from your email account to the users on BES with this in subject line.

<$confirm,removeondelivery> Test BES 123

if BES says it is delivered, it has been delivered 99.99% of the time. Nothing is stored on the network.

While I see your point it doesn't answer the question asked,
nor does it deal with the 0.01% (using your figures) where the status is unknown.

if status is unknown, does it show a PIN for the device in BAS?

Re: Network monitoring between BES server and blackberry

Everything looks fine on the BES server, there are odd times when users report not getting mail even though the bes server has apparently passed this to the RIM network.
One of the users last time was the CEO, so it would be good to have end to end visability. Hence the original question about being able to monitor the network in the post bes/pre blackberry space.

Re: Network monitoring between BES server and blackberry

BES server version and mail setup are not required for the original question asked.

Let me be clear .I am not looking for troubleshooting steps here.

I merely wish to know if there is a way of monitoring the mail post BES (hence BES version not relevant).

This could possibly be through some monitoring software if RIM have such a thing , or through some third party software if necessary.

The BRK has a mail flow tool, not sure if it is what you want or not.
