Post upgrade issue 4.1.6 to 5.0

Upgrading to version 5, I was logged in as BESadmin, everything in LDAP said confirmed and ok. It appeared that connectivity between BES and AD was correct. Upon completion of upgrade, my BESadmin account does not allow me to login, I have to use the Blackberry admin account. When I try to add the BESadmin in Administrator user gives error: The user was not found in active directory with the supplied information. What am I doing wrong?

Re: Post upgrade issue 4.1.6 to 5.0

Thanks for the response, but what am I missing here?  I reloaded the software, (which requires a reboot, taking it down from user use) and there is no difference.  Many of the options were grayed out when I was reloading.  As before, I queried, verified, etc, and LDAP says everything is good.  What is it that needs to change?

Re: Post upgrade issue 4.1.6 to 5.0

Are you trying to login using AD authentication?

I had a similar issue when trying to loin using AD auth.

I had to set 'Use DES encryption types for this account' on the properties of the BESAdmin account in AD.

Fire up Active Directory Users and Computers -> Find the bes admin account and get the properties up -> Select the account tab and then tick 'Use DES encryption types for this account'.

Let me know if this is what your after or am I barking up the wrong tree :-)

Re: Post upgrade issue 4.1.6 to 5.0

Added this check mark in BESadmin account, replicated DCs, and still get errors.

1.   Error when loggin in as BESadmin, password, domain, Windows login and get this error:

The username, password, or domain is not correct. Please correct the entry.

2. Log in as admin, using Blackberry Admin Service,  try to add administrator, get this error.

  • The user was not found in Active Directory with the supplied information.
