Unite! Issues...

After installing Blackberry Unite!, I have found that I get errors on the browser and cannot use any of the links I had prior to the install of UNITE!.

I want to uninstall UNITE from the blackberry and remove the "IT POLICY", restore my blackberry browser, etc... Is there a way to do it without "wiping" the entire Blackberry?

Re: Unite! Issues...

When you activate a device on BlackBerry Unite! the default behaviour is to force all browsing traffic through the Unite! Browser (unless you are on a BES).  This was done to ensure that any browsing done on the device is logged in the Web Usage section in the console in the event that users wanted to be able to track their browsing habits.

This is changed in the first update that is pushed out via auto upgrade.  If you are running bundle 35 in the console you have been upgraded to the latest version.

Everyone that has Unite! installed should have been auto upgraded to the latest version and in that version there is a way to correct the browsing issues.

If you go to the Manage Services tab for the user you will have a radio button that will allow you to toggle the default browser to be either BlackBerry Unite! Browser or the Internet Browser.

Once this change is made any bookmarks that were configured to use the Internet Browser will again do so.  If you click on links in emails this will still use the BlackBerry Unite! Browser until you change the default browser on the device back to the Internet Browser.  (Options => Advanced Settings => Browser => Default Browser).

Thanks for the update (info and software...).

Maybe I will give it another try.

Re: Unite! Issues...

I've been having the same issues as discussed on this thread.  However on my device (a curve 8300) it will not allow me to change the default browser to anything but the unite browser.  Ever since installing the unite software, I cannot get the internet browser to work.  I keep getting the error Unable to connect to the mobile data service.  I tried to wipe my device and lost my browser completely.  I just want to either make unite work or be able to get my phone back the way it used to be. This has been a total nightmare.

Re: Unite! Issues...

When I go to Options => Advanced Settings => Browser => Default Browser only the Unite! Browser is there. It will not allow me to change to the normal Browser.

Re: Unite! Issues...

You have to change it on the Unite! server not on the device.

Re: Unite! Issues...

I think the issue that they're having, and that I'm having too is that it will not allow you to change it in the Unite console on your computer.  When you can't change it there and you can't change it on your phone, it's really frustrating.  I still can't get anything to sync with Unite.

Re: Unite! Issues...

Hi all,

As of 14 August 2008, a new version BlackBerry Unite! 1.0.2 was releases to the public! I would recommend that those who are experiencing issues with trying to change the default browser upgrade to this version and see if that resolves the issue.
