BlackBerry® Enterprise Server Version 5.0

I went through the webinars but the gentleman never answered my question so here it is. Can we upgrade to version 5 straight from version 4 SP7 or do we have to upgrade to 4.1 first?

"BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 4.0 SP7 if your organization has only one BlackBerry Enterprise Server instance in the
BlackBerry Domain"

As per page 6, 4.0.7 is supported so you should be good to go as long as you have one instance.

Which has a section called "Supported BlackBerry Enterprise Server versions that you can upgrade from"

Thanks guys, another question for you though. Several components like Blackberry Router and Blackberry attachment service are saying that v 4.1 SP3 is compatible. These services would be the same as the Blackberry Manager version correct? If so, would they be upgraded when I do the upgrade? Or is this something that I would have to upgrade seperately?

If the components are all local then when you upgrade to 5.0, all the components will be upgraded as well without having to to do anything else.

If you have remote components installed then you will need to run the installer on the remote components to get them up to 5.0

Cool! Thanks so much! Are there any different hardware or software requirements since v. 4? We have an HP Proliant Server running Windows Server 2003 SP2. The server is an Intel Xeon with 2 procs running at 3 GHz each, and 2 GB of ram. We have a grand total of 30 users in our environment.
