it seems that this has been discussed earlier but always with lotus domino and no solution worked for me in my exchange environment.

the problem:

when i mark a mail as read in outlook it takes about 15min that the same mail is marked as read on the blackberry.

folderrescantime solution:

i changed the folderrescantime to about 30s (i only have 2 mailboxes) but this doesnot help

when looked in the log i see this:

[40974] (02/09 10:56:15.287):{0xD04} {xxx@xxx.com} Queuing notification of modified mail

nearly immediately after i change the read-state in outlook -> the bes has the information but doesnot send it to the device.

how can i configure my bes-express that it doesnot wait 15min to send this.

i have bes express 5.0.3 MR2

Exchange 2010 SP1

Bold-9900

you cant make it faster, but you can delete from device which will delete from outlook faster.

This will explain a lot about reconcile and hard deletes

I have also changed the messages state size to 1000 and it cured 99% of our issues.
The performance hit and RAM increase is almost nil on the BES box.

On Device also double check:

Make sure that Wireless Reconcile is set to On. Sometimes toggling that to off, saving it, then turning it back on.
Messages Options - Email reconciliation -
Delete on Mailbox and handheld,
wireless reconcile = Yes
On conflicts = Mailbox wins.

If still not working and you moved a user mailbox.

my problem is not with the handling of deleted mails. i am aware of the handling of this and a read your answer when is searched the forum.

my problem is the read/unread mark reconciliation. when is read a message in  outlook i would be habby that it has the read-sate on my blackberry too (1 or 2 minutes later is okay for me). now i have to wait about 15min

is it possible to set the OTAFM interval in the registry?

i have not seen a way to make it faster in 5 years
