BB couldn't contact the server

Hi there,

 

i updated yesterday the whole server farm. But i can not activate my BlackBerry 10. I have two servers one with BES 5.0.4 and one with BDS, UDS, BMS. All devices (iPhones, old BlackBerry's) work fine exept BB10. When i try to to activate i get allways the error msg:

 

Activation Error

The server couldn't be contacted. Echeck that you are connected to a network and that the server address is correct.

 

I connected the BB via my Provider as well through Wlan. From BlackBerry Expert Support Center i checked the connection to my server and to my device. Both were ok.

 

Do you have any idea what could be the problem?

Is your server able to register with the bb infrastructure (telnet discoveryservice.blackberry.com 443 from bds as the user bas is running as)?
Are you trying to activate with add account - mail or add account - advanced - work?

The Server is able to register with the bb infrastructure. As well the srp test tool works fine. For the activation i tried both (with mail and pass and with mail, pass, serveraddress) But without success :smileysad:

Is your device connected to the BB Infrastructure (do you have the BB symbol next to the radio signal strength)?

Whats your Mailsystem? Normally you do not have to assign an email profile for activation, but give it a try.
You also should set the smtp configuration on BDS. Saw some strange issues without smtp configuration.

We use exchange 2007. I allready configured the smtp and assigned a email profile. I tested with "generate an activation email" and this worked.

Btw. is it correct, that i do not have a router service as i have at the 5.0.4 server? Could it be that this is within the dispatcher?

Dispatcher connects directly to the BB infrastructure now, but you can install a BB Router in the DMZ if you want.
I'm out of ideas right now, sorry :smileysad:

No worries. Thank you anyway. But whats a bit strange, if i have again a look in to the experts center i can see the follwoing:

 

Previous Activation Results

 
Note:We found an enterprise activation for the User ID which was completed on 28/02/2013.
This activation result does not impact this or future activation attempts.
 

Error encountered during previous activation:
The BlackBerry Device Service was unable to contact the activation server.

 

Do you probably know what they mean with "activation server"?

Seems the BDS was not able to connect to discoveryservice.blackberry.com
