BES 10.1.1 Problem with device activation on Android: 404 not found

Hi,

have a trial version BES 10.1.1 and try to activate an Android device.

Activateion mail says:

<CompanyName> has enabled your device for BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10. You can now activate your device to associate it with your work environment. When your device is activated, you can access your work email messages, calendar, and applications, and use your work Wi-Fi and VPN connections.

Before you begin:

To install a certificate on your device, open a browser and enter the following web address: https://de.bbsecure.com/Sxxxxxxxx/ca. The certificate ensures that your device recognizes the BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 server.

1. On your device, install the BES10 Client from the applicable app store:

App Store: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/mobile-fusion-client/id505157728

Google Play:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rim.mobilefusion.client

2. On your device, open the BES10 Client.

3. Type the following server address: de.bbsecure.com/Sxxxxxxxx.

4. Confirm that the certificate details shown on your device match the following:

Trusted: < X or checkmark>

Name: *.xxxxxxxxxxxx

Fingerprint: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

5. Type your username and password.

Username: xxxxxxx

The activation period will expire on Juli 5, 2013 10:00:00 PM (+02:00).

6. Tap Activate My Device.

7. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the activation.

https://de.bbsecure.com/Sxxxxxxxx/ca

(garbled the SRP-ID in this post, the mail contains the rigth SRP-ID)

When using this URL, I get: 404 not found.

Can tell someone, what went wrong?

Thanks, Bernd

[ Edited ]

Hello,

I have the same problem. When trying to enter https://de.bbsecure.com/SXXXXX/ca i get ERROR 404 not found

I opened a ticket at blackberry and now its escaleted to a second level engineer.

That was the last contact:

Thank you for contacting BlackBerry Technical Support.

My review of the BlackBerry Secure Connect logs revealed there was an issue with the SRP Authentication Key. Specifically, the way the key is rendered. I wanted to confirm the rendering of the SRP authentication key in the dbo.kvp_tenant table in the UDS database includes the dashes. Your SRP Authentication key should appear as follows : xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx. Could you verify this?

Verified this, but it looks okay

@Bernd: hope this isnt a german bb problem since your adress is starting with de too.

Re: BES 10.1.1 Problem with device activation on Android: 404 not found

I would suggest that you guys open a ticket at blackberry as well. With the activation of the bes10 server you get a free ticket.

My customer is getting really angry because its just not working...

What kind of firewall are you using? We are running a Micorosft TMG.

Other tipps from the support which didnt help:

Thank you for contacting BlackBerry Technical Support.

I'd like to confirm some things with you. First, I was hoping you could log into the Universal Device Service console and navigate to Settings and APNs Certificate. I was hoping you could confirm the APNs certificate was uploaded the BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 server and the .pfx file was successfully imported to the certificate store. The steps detailing this process can be found in the Installation and Configuration Guide for the Universal Device Service on page 21. I've included a link below.

Title : BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 Universal Device Service Version: 6.2 Maintenance Release: 1 Installation and Configuration Guide

Link : http://docs.blackberry.com/en/admin/deliverables/49194/Universal_Device_Service_6.2.1_Installation_a...

Secondly, if you could also perform a telnet (if telnet is installed) from the BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 server to the BlackBerry Secure Connect Service.

telnet de.bbsecure.com 3101

It is vital we ensure that any firewalls in place contain an allowance for outbound TCP traffic to <region>.bbsecure.com on port 3101. I understand one of our agents provided you with the requisite public knowledge base article on a previous interaction. I've included it below for quick reference.

Title : Configuring network firewalls to work with BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 version 10.1

Thanks for your reply.

Sorry for the delay, but this week I could not follow this thread.

telnet de.bbsecure.com 3101

works on the router (we use a configuration with BB router)

and yes, we are in germany.

Problem still not solved.

Re: BES 10.1.1 Problem with device activation on Android: 404 not found

APNs Certificate may be a good hint.

I do not have installed any, because I like to mange an Android device but not an iOS.

May unterstanding is, that I need a APNs Certificate for iOS only.

Do I need it also for Android?
