BES 5.0 Create User error

Hi

Running BES 5.0 on an SBS 2008 unit

Services all running and web admin service running nicely.

Created a couple of users no problems.

Deleted one of the users (in BES admin) and am no am unable to recreate. (user still exisits in SBS)

When i 'Add user from company directory' i get the message that user already exists but I cannot find him via search or recreate.

I've installed MR1

Any ideas?

Re: BES 5.0 Create User error

First and foremost ... Is BES installed on the same os instance as SBS2008?  You realize that is not supported.

Re: BES 5.0 Create User error

When you delete a user, that user goes into some sort of pending queue. I have not been able to, or patient enough to find the timeframe where it will actually complete the deleteion of users. I did find a method where you can force the process, and it dosen't include manually going into the SQL database either. In fact, you don't have to leave the Admin GUI.

After you delete the user, you have to perform an Advanced search on the Manage Users page. Towards the bottom of the page, you have to change the filter "Queued removal of BlackBerry services:", which a default value of False to True. Doing an otherwise empty search from this screen will result in a list of all the users you have deleted, and have not yet been removed from the database.

Select the user you want to forceably remove, and then you can click "Immediate removal of BlackBerry services". Once you do this, that user is finally removed from the server!

Hope that helps.

Re: BES 5.0 Create User error

I realize this is an old thread, but I just found this in a google search after tearing my hair out waiting for a user to delete so I could recreate them. Thanks caverat, you're a lifesaver :smileyhappy:
