BES 5.0 on 64bit Server 08 on virtual machine Hyper-V or VMware. Can it be done?

We are looking to migrate our BES 5.0 from a 2k3 32bit machine to a 64 bit virtual machine running Svr08. Hyper-V or VMware, have not decided yet. (our exchange 03 will remain on a 32bit 2k3 box)

I have searched around in the forums and found a few entries, but none that seem to answer my questions.

Can it be done?

Is it supported by RIM?

Any issue leaving the exchange server as is for the time being? I wouldn't imagine it would be an issue?

Thanks much in advance.

Tony

Is it supported by RIM? VM Ware yes, Hyper V pending but many are doing it with no issues.

Thanks much in advance.

My current setup is BES 5.0 MR1 on Server 2008 x64 running in Hyper-V with a 2003 Exchange SP2 install. I have no issues other than this, which is not an issue with it running in Hyper-V.

The matrix doesn't say anything about vsphere (ESX 4). Does anyone know if my vm can run on a ESX 4 host?
