BES browser : "UnresolvedAddress Exception" when browsing https sites

Hello,

I have a BES device, under OS5. The regular browsing setting by the IT policy is to remove all browser types and replace it by the corporate browser. So when I browse using the BlackBerry browser, the browser selected is the BES one, that goes through among all the company web proxy.

For example I cannot go to youtube or facebook because it is the company policy.

Now, to my issue. When I take the browser and try to go to any https website, it does not work. I get the following error message. I copy paste it, and also add a screenshot.

The server returned the following

error while attempting to fullfill your

request:

"java.nio.channels.UnresolvedAddress

Exception".

I have already obviously contacted my BES admins. They removed my device from the BES then reactivated it (I had to type in a password to trigger the activation with them), and the issue still remains.

They ended up telling me that I had no specific reason to use https on my BlackBerry browser, and their proposition is to replace by device, which I do not want (replace a 8900 with 480x360 screen definition by a 9220 with 360x240 screen definition).

Can you help me understand where the issue is (maybe it is a setting I did on my side ?) and maybe fix it ?

currently browsing those websites using Opera Mini works fine.

And browsing those websites using the WiFi browser works fine too (this is the superiority of OS5, you can create a bookmark and assign it to the Wifi browser), but there is no WiFi at work.

Re: BES browser : "UnresolvedAddress Exception" when browsing https sites

I was unable to find this KB, thanks Knotty.

But my other colleagues can access https websites. So I think for them, the MDS is correctly setup. Why would it be different for me ?

and about the BES version, I don't know. How can I know, my device is OS5 (8900).

I know that for emails, I can reconciliate the flag color from Exchange to the BlackBerry device.
