BlackBerry Enterprise Server 10.1 failing to login Using AD credentials

HI All,

I am currently banging my head against the desk with this issue,

I have built up a brand new server to host Blackberry 10.1 and installed it as per the installation guide, the only thing that i can’t do is log into the administration control panel using active directory credentials (besadmin), I can log into the administration control panel using the local Blackberry server credentials and have checked the active directory setting and they all seem correct

  • I have ensured that the firewall is disabled
  • I have reinstalled it to ensure I made no mistakes when installing it
  • I can locally log into the server using the besadmin account
  • Besadmin is part of the local administrators group
  • I checked that the server resolves the name and IP (nslookup)
  • Checked that Domain login is switched on in the browser
  • Flushed the DNS from command line

We currently have an older version setup and installed and that all seem to work fine with the current besadmin account

I think our Domain controller is at a server 2003 functional level but still need to confirm this

Please any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Nathan

Re: BlackBerry Enterprise Server 10.1 failing to login Using AD credentials

Hi Nathan,

If I understand you correctly then the "besadmin" account is not the same user account you installed your BES with?

Only the installing user is automatically added to the BAS as administrator user.

Every other (admin-)user needs explicitely to be added as administrator (with all groups and roles).

Best regards,

Nallo

Re: BlackBerry Enterprise Server 10.1 failing to login Using AD credentials

Actually it is other way around. If you built your BES as BESAdmin, it will not let you login as BESAdmin but only as Admin. Then you add BESAdmin as an administrator by assigning a role and then you can use Besadmin account to login. Weird but that worked for me.
