Can't Setup Enterprise Activate -- BAS & NCC Serivce Won't Start

All,

I just reloaded a users phone and was going to setup the enterprise activation bit but after going to my server to attempt to open the dekstop manager to generate the enterprise activation password I realized that it wouldn't open.

In the start menu the BlackBerry Server Configuration page opens fines and everything I can see tests out fine.  If I open the "BlackBerry Administration Service" page or "BlackBerry Web Desktop Manager" page they both can't connect and display the standard IE page cannot be found error.

I went to services and see that the Blackberry Administration Service (Administrator Service & Native Code Container Service) both will not start.  When I go to the event logs I see errors referencing the JVM (exact messages at bottom of message).

If I go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\BAS-AS\Parameters] or (BAS-NCC) as well as in the same locations in ControlSet2 they all point the JVM library to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.6.0_31\bin\client\jvm.dll".  However, this file doesn't actually exist in that location and instead does exist in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\client".  If I change all the paths to this new location it still doesn't work.

What the in the world is going on?  Can anyone help me remedy this issue so I can activate my reloaded device?

Thanks so much for all your help in advance.

Re: Can't Setup Enterprise Activate -- BAS & NCC Serivce Won't Start

sounds like maybe you updated java

Java been updated? Dont update it, it is not needed but check the following

http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB14697

Also modify this key, it seems to get the wrong value during an upgrade for some.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\BAS-AS\Parameters\JVM Option Number 3

-Xmx1024m
by
-Xmx768m

Look at the BAS AS logs located here by default
C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerryEnterprise Server\Logs

as of SP3 certain special characters are no longer allowed in password e.g. !, _?

Then take a look at this KB.
http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB24220

BAS wont open on 2008 R2
