ETP.DAT stays in Inbox

[ Edited ]

Hello

We are using BES 5 in prod. We installed BES10 for tests on another server.

I removed a user from the BES5 server and add it to the BES10. Now when I do the Enterprise Activation, I receive the email with the attachement ETP.DAT, but it stays in the Inbox and the smartphone wont activate.

Thanks for any help you could provide,

Martin

Re: ETP.DAT stays in Inbox

Are you attempting to activate a BB10 device like the Z10? BES10 will not work with older BlackBerry devices, you need to keep BES5 for those.

ok thanks. I'd prefer running only one server for all Blackberry devices. Anyone know if that will be possible in a near future?

Re: ETP.DAT stays in Inbox

No, you will require BES5 to support the older (pre-BB10) devices, and you will require BES10 to support BB10 and Playbook devices. It is doubtful this will change, although I would expect that BlackBerry will eventually stop making BB7 devices so the requirement for BES5 will gradually go away.
