How to enable http authentication in MDS CS BES 10

Hello there,

my goal is to make intranet website available on Z10 without prompt for credentials. I configured MDS CS in BES10, Including modifying MDSLogin.conf file/restarting MDS CS service/etc - still asks for username/pw on my Z10 (and if I type them - accepts and intranet's there).

I understand BES10/Z10 is fairly new, there's vast knowledge base for BES 5. Even links from BES10 lead to BES5 howtos (i.e. http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Enterprise-Service-10/Configuring-Proxy-Mappings-t...

Does anyone know how to enable http authentication in MDS CS BES10? or if there's another way for SSO-kind of intranet browsing from my handhold?

Thank YOU!

Re: How to enable http authentication in MDS CS BES 10

Hi there,

My understanding on BES 10 is that you can now create and assign Proxy Profiles directly to your user's devices in the same way that you assign VPN/WiFi/Email profiles. The proxy profile can include proxy and logon information, as well as an exclusion list for sites that don't get routed via your proxy.

I don't believe that you can configure MDS-CS as an overall service with proxy information any more (Although you can still configure proxy information when sending notifications to push initiators).

See page 87 of http://docs.blackberry.com/en/admin/deliverables/48971/BlackBerry_Device_Service_6.2_Administration_...

Re: How to enable http authentication in MDS CS BES 10

You cannot assign Proxy Profiles to users, but to the server (BDS).

You cannot add Access Control Rules/Windows Integrated Authentication anymore, so that solution cannot be used.

The Admin Guide states something about single-sign on and uploading a kerb5.conf to the BDS (page 90 of mentioned admin guide) - but I do not know how the file has to look like.
Please let us know if you find a solution :smileywink:
