IT policy distribution setting

Hi, is there a way to make the IT policy distribution time faster?

In the BES 4.1.6 days when you pushed a policy to a user it was almost instantaneous. Since the 5.0 BES installation, it takes around 15 to 20 minutes to get to the device. Is there a way to make it faster?

Thanks,

Re: IT policy distribution setting

In previous versions of BlackBerry Enterprise Server software, if a change was made to an IT policy and then the change was reversed, this would generate twice the load on the messaging server since both the information about the change and about the reversal was delivered. In BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 5.0, the default delay of 15 minutes allows for a reversal of a change to be detected and taken into consideration when preparing to run an IT policy management task.

Note: Administrative IT commands, such as Set Password, Lock Handheld, Kill Device, and Set Owner Info, are all still delivered to the BlackBerry smartphone immediately.

Additional Information:

For more information on configuring job scheduling settings, refer to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server Administration Guide.

Re: IT policy distribution setting

Thanks, you said exactly what RIM told me when I asked them :smileywink: But still, I don't understand why you can't force it to a single user. If you resend the servicebook for instance, it gets send out immediatly, it should be the same for IT policy. There are no registry hack or anything else to change the 15 minutes default?

Re: IT policy distribution setting

Thanks for the quick reply. I did look this section of the guide, but it doesn't help much, you can set the job priority to "high" but it will only make it run prior a low or a normal priority job. It will still take 15 minutes. Thanks anyway.
