It is completely possible for the Exchange administrator to deny certain devices from being able to access Activesync.

They need to do it in the Exchange Control Panel and specify the devices there. Instructions are on this page:

Yup.  In Exchange 2010.  This unfortunately doesn't apply to Exchange 2007 and prior.

I have been fighting this for a while, everyone is activating ithings, we are getting 2010 now.

 

I have turned off EAS for the BES only users but EAS users are getting on my nerves
