SOCKS Proxy for UDS - how to set?

Hi there,

does somebody have an idea if the Secure Connection Service in UDS can work with a SOCKS Proxy? My UDS Server is behind a firewall and DMZ, so I may not open the 3101 to bbsecure.com. When using Proxifier to route all traffic to Port 3101 to my SOCKS4 Proxy, everything works fine. If I switch off Proxifier and configure the Proxy in Settings -> Secure Connect Service -> Enable Proxy (yes, an restart the service :smileywink: ), there is no connection. Error log says:

2013-07-23 13:01:59,495 WARN [pool-12-thread-1] [,] ApplicationEndpoint - Unable to connect to EndpointInfo[host=<IP.of.my.proxy>,port=1080,tls=false,mode=<null>], failureStreak is 1.

So I am obviously something missing.

Ah, ok: BES 10.1.1. Windows Server 2008R2.

thanks for your feedback

cheers

Re: SOCKS Proxy for UDS - how to set?

Hello eeilers,

Thank you for your question regarding Proxies and UDS.

I noticed that you set the Secure Connect component to redirect to the DMZ did also configure the UDS server to support your proxy?

Those setting are Settings-> HTTP or HTTPS Proxy

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Re: SOCKS Proxy for UDS - how to set?

Hi LoneWolf902,

yes, I did this. Nevertheless, the BSC-Log throws an error, because it wants to connect to my proxy directly.

I now did switch off all proxy fields in BDS and UDS and use Proxifier. but this can not be the solution.

Any idea?

cheers

To proxy the BCP connection you will need to enter a TCP Proxy server's settings in the UDS GUI under Settings->Secure Connect Service

It looks like you mentioned trying this in the first post.  Do you see the connection attempt on your proxy when you configure this through the GUI?
