Re: Secure Work Space - Push notification

I'm also not receiving any push notifications / automatic email updates on my IOS device. I only get email when I open the work connect app. I'm running Bes10.1.1

Here is the tail of my log.

Anything I can do to resolve this? or is it a $50 ticket to BB. I'm still running the trial and have used my 2 complement support tickets.

Thanks in Advance

Brian

I had this issue.  I followed the steps in http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/viewdocument.do?externalId=KB34664&sliceId=2&cmd=displayKC&d... to get past it.  Working now!

I had ignored the gatekeeping config since we're on Exchange 2007.

Re: Secure Work Space - Push notification

There is a known issue with BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10.1.1.18 where the EWS Impersonation Account password is not able to contain several symbols and uppercase letters.

This is documented internally at BlackBerry R&D as ticket MKS7478341.

I was able to resolve the push notifications by following the directions here:

http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB34664

With the section "Create and configure an impersonation account" I created an additional Active Directory account with a password containing numbers, lowercase letters and the '!' symbol (to satisfy domain complexity requirements).

I then used this account again in the "Setup BlackBerry Work Connect Notification Service" setup of the prior referenced KB.

Make sure you follow the directions for your version of Exchange to properly setup impersonation with the account you create for this purpose.

BlackBerry Technical support advised this issue will likely be fixed within the next release of BES.

Re: Secure Work Space - Push notification

I can confirm this has been resolved by using a password that doesn't contain uppercase characters. It was so frustating for them to send me an incomplete KB article.

Glad iOS notifications finally works, but too bad it doesn't background load the messages when the notifications arrive. The Android SWS background loads messages. This would speed up loading. The Android background loads messages, but that app crashes frequently.

Hi,

i have the same problem. http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB34664 doesn´t help.

Can anybody compare my asg.xml with the asg.xml on a BES-Server where push notification works?

Re: Secure Work Space - Push notification

Hi Peter,

it seems no problem on asg,xml

Since the notification is using 8088 port from your Exchange server to BES10. Is the port opened?

Boogie

Re: Secure Work Space - Push notification

Yes, ports are opened. I rechecked it with telnet. :-(

Re: Secure Work Space - Push notification

[ Edited ]

Having the same issue but on Android (haven't tried on iOS yet)

We are on Exchange 2003 SP2. Email syncs fine to the galaxy S3 but only when I open and unlock the secure work space app. As soon as the phone locks, no email notifications.

Looking in asg.log I see this getting spammed:

[2013-07-24 20:56:00,001] [schedulerFactory_Worker-4] ERROR: EwsScheduleServiceImpl:59 - ASG pulling is not running. You need to set adamBaseUrl with right value first....
[2013-07-24 20:57:59,999] [schedulerFactory_Worker-5] INFO : EwsScheduleServiceImpl:141 - staring running polling email registrations from Adam server...

in asg.xml the AdamBaseURL property is: <property name="adamBaseUrl" value="http://localhost:7070/adam/portal/opeak/admin#"/>

We are on Exchange 2003 so we don't have EWS, and no gatekeeping or impersonation account is being used, so KB34664 doesn't really apply (unless there are Exch 2003 instructions somewhere?).

Are we SOL?
