Hello forum!
I need some help, we are about to take on a large migration of mail system from Lotus Notes to MS Exchange and I am trying to find out if there is a way to ease some pain on the BlackBerry side.
We would need to migrate 6000 users from one mail system to another.
I have located a KB article that has informed me that I will need to deploy BES for Exchange (makes sense) and wipe and re-activate the devices on the new BES.
However, I would like to minimize the user impact and work required with a deployment this large.
Any ideas on how I can make this migration a little easier? Tool suggestions? Work around to the wipe and re-activation?

Thare is no workaround for the wipe.
There is no easy way.
I dont know of any tools to make it easier.
Just make sure you document the process for users to follow and do a few tests yourself.

I really hope you’re wrong. You seem like you know what you’re talking about (Guru I). So I don’t think you are.
It just seems like this is something RIM would have thought of and made tools to make this easier.
I'm surprised there is no way of automating the wipe and activation process.

You can wipe all devices at once from BES. Just tell users to backup prior to a date of cutover.
BES 5.0.3 does have some user tools in web desktop manager for activating.
But you need to test things and there will be some outage for users, I dont think you can migrate all that data in one day.

Hi,
actually I know a tool, that makes your life much much easier when you want to migrate the BES Domino Users to BES Exchange or vice versa!
It offers automated moving of the users - you can define also time-stamps, groups, etc.
Take a look at the B*Nator Migration Utility!

various reference stories were posted about it.
I hope this helps!
