I can't believe I have not run into the solution for this yet, as I am sure I can't be the only  one with this problem.

I can activate BES on my device just fine, everything syncs (email, calendar, contacts, todo, memo). However, I want to be able to get pictures and other media off of my phone. But, when I connect my Blackberry to my computer it stops talking to BES for good. I have to re-activate again. Even though I choose for the blackberry destop to not sync anything, it still seems to change my phone's settings somehow and kills communication with BES.

I am at the end of my rope here, it is frustrating as heck. I would love to just get pictures and stuff off of my media card, but pluging it in to the computer is the kiss of death for my blackberry. I am using an 8330 with version 4.5 and blackberry desktop manager version 4.7.

Is there any way I can connect to my media card without the desktop manager? I tried mass storeage mode, but explorer will not read the card, window just comes up blank. It seems you need desktop manager for this to work, am I right about this?

Any ideas?

Did you choose during intallation of DM on your workstation, For redirection use Blackberry Enterprise server instead of desktop redirection and Internet option,right?

Yes, I chose the Enterprise Server option.

When connect your device to blackberry desktop manager, when you get the pop up prompting you for your email credentials, just click cancel there and go into the desktop manager. You don't have to put in your credentials there to get into the desktop manager.

You then just install DM in internet mode as you don't need anything else but to sync media. Have you formatted sd card? Do you use encryption for SD card?

hmmm I have never seen this prompt before? Why it would prompt you for email credentials? You mean outlook email profile to use?
