Hi,
I need some help with my new Blackberry (First time blackberry user). I just got a bold 9700 and want to get my corp email to the phone.
When I first got the phone I found out that I was on BIS and that for corp email I would require BES. So I had that changed and a few weeks later I tried to setup my email.
The BES IT guy called and gave me my password and explained that I had to go to option, advanced option, enterprise activation and enter my email address and my password which I did and then it just went to a "waiting for services" state. It did nothing from there. 30 minutes later I called back and explained the situation and I was then instructed to do a security wipe, swiched off the phone, take out the battery, restart the phone and try again. I did this as well and I still have the problem.
Is there anyone that know how to resolve this issue. It would be much apreciated.
Thanks
J

So are you sure that your Data Plan with the carrier is a BES plan, not BIS?
Call your mobile provider and make sure.

Hi,
Yeah I doubled checked that and got confirmation from the network provider.
Just to add.
after some time at the "waiting for services" part it kicks out an error saying that my email account or password is incorrect.
I doubled checked this with IT so they gave me another password which did the same thing.

Please confirm what network signal you're getting? GSM, gprs, GPRS, edge or EDGE?

connection is 3G, it also has the four bullets next to the 3G as well as WIFI under that. Sometimes it drops down to EDGE.

The four bullets is the RIM logo, It means you are connected to the BlackBerry service.
Call your BES Admin and make sure the device is actually activated on the BES.

Possible there is a BES issue that is cahching previous attempts.
have you BES Admin remove you from BES and add back in 20 mintues and send out the EA again.
Als have your BESadmin look at this tool.

Thanks for the help guys.
It was a problem on the server side of things. They created another account for me on the old server and it worked.
