The installation cannot continue as it cannot find the SQL server instance to create a database for BES to use. Is SQL installed on the SBS server already? ... or have you installed MSDE or SQL 2005 Express edition?

Ok, a couple of things here:
After you change the password you need to follow: KB13909 - How to change the password for the BlackBerry administration account
Well ... if you have SBS it depends. You should contact whoever setup the server to find out how they set it up. Google will help point you in the right direction.
Most likely you have a SQL instance installed so when you put in the servername for the database information it won't connect as it isn't installed as the default instance.

even tough i uninstalled bb server, after i re-installed and rebooted it keeps bringing the installation page back with the sql instance name thing which i cannot find.

Start > Run > services.msc <press enter>
Search for SQL Server ... when you find a service listed with SQL server there should be something in paranthesis; that is the instance name.
When you go back to the BES installer and it asks for the server name you'll enter in SERVERNAME\INSTANCENAME

Search the hard drive of the server for BBSRPTest.exe (should be in C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Utility ... or Tools; I forget). go to a cmd prompt and run that executable.
Or do telnet srp.na.blackberry.net 3101 (or whatever your SRP host is). If it connects your cmd prompt window should go blank.

Sweet! Make sure that port 3101 connection is only outbound initated; you don't need any inbound initiated connections at the firewall opened for BES
