Hi,

I keep having this reacurring problem with BES. I have 10 handhelds on the server, but every couple of weeks the server stops contacting 7 of them, but the other 3 work fine. Restarting the blackberry server in Server Configuration page of  BES fixes the problem till the next event.

It is always the same 3 that stay connected and the same 7 that the server stops contacting.

Im runing BES 4.1.6 MR2 (Rollup) (bundle 73)

Windows Server 2003 R2 (Fully updated)

Exchange 2007 (Fully updated)

Any ideas? Its driving me mad!

Are they on different Exchange or mailbox store? Handheld OS? Same mailbox agent?

Same store, 1 exchange server, 1 bes server. 8 handhelds running os 4.2 2 running os 4.5

1 handheld on 4.5 works with the 3 that work, 1 handheld on 4.5 is with the 7 that dont.

Just updated to MR3 this morning to see if that fixes it.

Do they use Desktop Manager?

They may do at home, but not onsite. One of the ones that works is my handheld, I have the desktop software installed for charging and updating the handhelds, but its never plugged in for any other reason.

Tell them to never use the DTM again. ;p

But seriously, this could be a threading issue. I would suggest you research that, see if you are having hung threads.

which log file woudl contain the hung threads?

im bit of a bes newbie
