Good day
we have the following issue, we are unable to connect to our BES server via our BB's:
I have gone to the Blackberry Server Config > Blackberry Router to test the Network connection and it gives me the following error:
Attempting to connect to :
za.srp.blackberry.com (193.109.81.33), port 3101
ERROR: connect() failed: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.

Attempting to connect to :
za.srp.blackberry.com (93.186.25.33), port 3101
ERROR: connect() failed: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.

Now my question is this purely an Firewall issue or can there be another issue that we need to look at?

do you have a firewall rule for it to be allowed?
Start with this.
KB02068 - How to troubleshoot SRP connectivity issues
Have you made any perimiter or software firewall changes?
Can you flush your DNS server cache?
Are all your BES services running?
DBNS can be ignored.
What are they being logged on as?
Try stopping these services in this order:
Blackberry Controller
Blackberry Dispatcher
Blackberry Router
Starting the services in this Order:
Blackberry Controller
Blackberry Dispatcher
Blackberry Router
Let us know how you progress.
