Dear all,
Our company just installed BlackBerry Enterprise 4.1.6, everything is working fine. I like the BB a lot. However, I just curious about nature of default function.
First, if I delete an email from BB Curve, after a few sec, the email will be deleted at outlook at my PC which it is what I want (actually I select this option at my BB curve).
However, if I delete an email from outlook, it won't delete at BB curve. I have to use "reconcile now", then the email will be disappeared at my BB curve. So my question is that how to auto reconcile everytime I delete email from outlook?
Second, if I move email to "personal folder" from outlook, the email always there even I use "reconcile now"at my BB curve. Is that normal? How can I fix it? In other words, if I move the email from"Inbox" to my personal folder at outlook, the email should not show up at BB curve.
Thanks

When you're deleting in Outlook are you doing a SHIFT + DELETE? ... Check out this on Hard Deletes (which is what a move to a PST is).
KB04853 - How to enable hard deletes

I am not deleting any email, just move the email from inbox to personal folder (.pst file) from my outlook.
I follow the instruction set the "hard delete" to True and reboot the BES server. But the email is still in my box on my BB Curve after move the email to personal folder (.pst file) on the outlook.
Anyone can tell me how to fix it?? or it is normal?
Thanks
Ken

This is NOT the case. If you have hard delete support enabled and a message is being tracked by the internal database according to the requirements in the link I provided the message will be removed from the HH.
If a message is not being reconciled (removed) from the HH after you move to a PST (which is a hard delete), then the message is outside of the state database that is tracking it.

Had the same problem... If you go to Messages, then options, then General Options, there's an item called "Hide Filed Messages". Change this to "ON". Should fix it.
Hope this helps.

I have the same problem. "hide filed messages" do not work either.

In the future please do knot necro an old 14 month thread. Make a new one.
Info changes a lot in one year.
Are you on BES?
if yes then
What version BES, mail platform, email client, smartphone OS?
This will explain a lot about reconcile and hard deletes
KB04863 - Permanent deletion of email messages in Microsoft Outlook does not reconcile to the BlackB...
link in above KB in case you missed it
KB04853 - How to enable hard deletes on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server
I have also changed the messages state size to 1000 and it cured 99% of our issues.
The performance hit and RAM increase is almost nil on the BES box.
On Device also double check:
Make sure that Wireless Reconcile is set to On. Sometimes toggling that to off, saving it, then turning it back on.
Messages Options - Email reconciliation -
Delete on Mailbox and handheld,
wireless reconcile = Yes
On conflicts = Mailbox wins.
