Disallow Internet access and web browsing

Hi,

we are running BES 5.0 and I got the task to disallow the browsing and Internet access for a couple of BB Users.

I could create a special policy with special restrictions for these users.

With the KB15242 I could disable the Browsing on the device (also third party browsers like opera). But the issue is with installed apps. For example on my test device I have a news app. This app is pushing news on the device.

So how can I disallow the internet connection for such kind of apps. Also weather apps i.e. are using an internet connection. Is there any policy setting to disallow connections for apps generally?

Thanks

Hape

Re: Disallow Internet access and web browsing

In Security there are Allow Internal and External Connections -> That is for apps.
Another way would be an Application control Policy for Unlisted applications for those users where you disallow those settings. With that you can allow Internet connection to specific Apps that you are deploying with BES.
