Hi all

Last night I did a knife edge cutover of our BES 4.1.7MR3 onto new hardware (Win2008R2) with Domino 8.5.3FP2.

The BES and Domino stayed at the same level so the only thing that changed was the OS.  it is using a remote SQL db......

I followed these instructions:

I now cannot get the Collaboration Service to start, it starts then stops and shows the following error in Event Viewer:

<2012-11-02 09:16:34.245 GMT>:[22]:<BBIM_servername_BBIM_1>:<ERROR>:<LAYER = BBIM, Sametime Connection cannot be established>

Blackberry Manager is configured correctly to point to our Sametime server however in the knife edge instructions it tells you to modify the SQL db and change the IMConfig:

1> update IMConfig set MachineName = '<new_computer_name>' where ID=1

2> update IMConfig set ServerName = '<new_computer_name> _BBIM_1' where ID=1

Does anyone have any ideas??  Did changing the SQL config above cause this?  the Sametime server is also remote.......

Looks like I have resolved it! There is an error in the instructions.....
In the line 2> update IMConfig set ServerName = '<new_computer_name> _BBIM_1' where ID=1 there is no space between the server name and the _BBIM_1
I kept looking at it wondering, changed the config this morning in SQL and it works.........
