Hello Everyone,
Got a big issue which won't resolve itself! I have two people who have received new BlackBerry Bold's. One of the accounts worked straight away with Enterprise Activation the other did not and I had to recreate the account on the BES server (I\we manage our own BES) then activate again.
This second user uses a lot of folders so on the BES under Service Access I have highlighted his folders for redirect. When the user looks into those folder there is no mail.
How can I get that mail which is in Outlook onto his Bold? Our email system is Exchange 2003 and the BES server is 4.1 with all SP's
Another solution that I haven't tried yet is to reactivate his old BlackBerry. The user claims that he could see all his mail in the folders on that device. Would doing a Enterprise Activation on that device sync the history he has on the old device back to the server? I fear that it could cause issues with the new mail he has had since the swap so haven't tried it yet?
Or is there a method of backing up the history on the old device and moving it to the Bold?
Any help will be great.

So are NEW emails not redirecting into those folders? Or existing ones?
If existing email are not working, then check out this KB article

Hi jmrmb80,
That was already set up from the Enterprise server.
Has no effect on bringing in older email.

Hi knottyrope,
I'm aware of the 14 day issue, But his old BB retained more than 14 days of information and its that info that I want to get over to the bold.

Can not be done on the BES.
Desktop manager might be able to sync it back
If on a high enough version of BES he can search the contents of the folder.

Can not be done! That's a big limitation to this method of mobile email. Windows Mobile, iPhone and HTC\Android all allow for viewing a email folder contents. The fact you can not re-push email headers at min. is poor. There is no tool to mod an email to trick the BES?
BES is at 4.1 with all the add SP's but having to search if available isn't the best way either.
I'm getting my hands on his Bold tomorrow and I'm going to politely ask the desktop manager to push his items back on and if that doesn't work I'm going to have to go through each folder pull the items out into a local PST and then throw them back in hopefully fooling it into pushing them back in.
One way or another we'll have a conclusion.. I feel a move from this platform which is a shame as it has served us well for the last two years. But the overhead of a separate server to support the mobiles and using 'Push' tech are showing issues for us now.

it only work on new emails, so you can forward them to trick BES.
Search works well. Who will remember an email subject (keep it under wraps johnson) was about the merger, after 2 years go by?
Ok maybe not that example.
I never search by email, I search for key words. Just imagine the user not using google. LOL
Overhead for the most secure device and most robust push email system.
Tell me how to block sites on a iporno phone or block an abusive app?
How do you say no to that active x control on a windows mobile phone with out running 4 servers? (can it even be done?)
BES is looking better everyday.
