Re: Is BESadmin a *must*? Constant sync errors.

[ Edited ]

So I followed the instructions you provided. The BESadmin account had already been created initially when the BES server was first installed, so all the permissions for that account were fine. I changed to logon services to log on with BESadmin instead of the domain admin. I changed the MAPI profile to use BESadmin.

However, I'm still getting that MAPI error when I launch BES Manager. So, I'm a bit at a loss.

Also, "Agent 1" will NOT start.....

Re: Is BESadmin a *must*? Constant sync errors.

I put everything back to logging in as domain admin and all is well. However, I'm sure the calendar synch problems are still happening.

It looks like I need to do a full re-install of BES using BESadmin account. Trying to switch it back just isn't working.

Re: Is BESadmin a *must*? Constant sync errors.

I've had to do it a few times in the past with the help of RIM, but yes, I will make absolutely sure to backup everything. We have roughly 30 users.

Reinstall is not big deal, but you may need to re-activate all users. But since you have only 30 users it should not be that big deal.

What kills me is that the last time I re-installed BES, I was on the phone with RIM and they walked me through it. Not ONCE was there a mention of having to use BESadmin. But, it was too many months ago to make a stink about with them. Those support calls ain't cheap!!!
