The subject should be pretty self explanatory.
We're testing a Jabber server on our Intranet / Internal network, and from my testing, none of the Jabber clients out there are able to communicate over MDS ONLY and connect to that internal server. They all seem to go out to the Internet first, and then try to find out server's address as though it was Internet-facing, which it's not.
Any help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi,
(By Default) If the Handhelds browser is set for Blackberry browser then it will connect to/thru the BES/MDS.
Can the browser access internal/intranet websites?
Can you access the jabber server from the BES/MDS server?
If not then you will need to get it working first so that the Handheld requests can then go through that.
What network do the jabber clients connect over? Do they have a settings to configure them to work over Blackberry browser/ Internet Browser/Hotspot? The client will have to have a setting (either hardcoded, or via a config setting) to choose one or the other, as a handset could be connected to all three and you would want the software to choose one of them...in your case always Blackberry browser connection to the BES/MDS.
Unfortunately I have seen it as an all too common failing in apps that are written ONLY for one type of network (i.e. BIS browser over BIS only connections)!

yes I under stand what a link is. when I pasted those links in, either in'edit as html' or text mode, either time it was come back and say it didn't like the links. so I intentionally broke the beginning of the links so I could post my info without caring about how this forum works.

The Vayusphere Blackberry Client works out of the box with BES/MDS and can also be pushed out to devices using BES Admin tools, so deployment can be automated if you have a large user population. It supports TLS encryption and is otherwise geared towards enterprise use.
