New BES installation

We will be getting our first BB device (Probably a Storm) shortly, and being unfamiliar with Blackberrys, I set up a test mail system and test BES. The test system is GroupWise 8, which functions fine on its own. I have installed the BES Quickstart edition and all services with it. The install seemed to go fine, but I don't know what to look for to tell if it is really connected to my test GW system. When I click the "Servers" icon in the left panel of the Blackberry Manager, there is an option for synchronizing the Address book, but whenever I click on it it says there is already one pending. Incidentally, we do not have an actual BB device as yet so I have no way of testing connectivity from that side. What should I look for? Are there log files someplace to tell if the backend portion is configured correctly?

Re: New BES installation

Best way to test is actually to get a device..

Re: New BES installation

We probably will soon, but once the managers buy them I 'd like to be able to get email synced with minimal time having to have the devices to test with. I was hoping to know ahead of time if the server end was working correctly.

Re: New BES installation

Thanks for the suggestion. When I go to the BB Manager, under the server name, and the Users Tab, when I click the Add Users link, I get a dialog box to find a user. I assume that means it should already be linked with GW since it seems to want to search users from teh GW address book, however I come up with nothing.

I notice also in the  Https://servername tree, there are 4 headings for applications and devices. They all say service unavailable. Could that be the reason I am not seeing my test user accounts?
