I am currently running a Windows based Palm device and am exchanging through the server with "Activesync";  do I need to purchase additional software when switching to a Blackberry device...I am the only person on my business network who will be using a Blackberry device..or does a limited version come with the product?

There are many ways to sync your blackberry, it comes with a program called desktop manager, that allows to sync contacts calender etc: Receving email depends on your enviroment, what is your mail platform?

We are running server 2003; we use outlook for all emails.  Currently, my smartphone syncs with the server and not the desktop...and I need to sync the blackberry directly through the sever  (exchange server)

If you dont mind leaving your computer on, you can use the redirector software. But for what you want, you are going to need a blackberry enterpise server
