Hi,
We have a client who is currently running the proffesional version on their exchange server. They have now hit the 30 user limit so we need to upgrade to Enterise. The only reason the upgrade is required is to unlock the user limit but it looks like we need to move it to a new server (unless someone can tell me otherwise). The issue with this is that I was only provided with a link to download the upgrade and not the full product and can't find anywhere to download the full version from. the client has also misplaced their original installation disks so I can't just install that and then the update.
The questions a am really asking is:
Do I really need to move it to another server?
Where can I download the full version from and will this work?
Thanks

It's asking for a username and password to login, where do I go to get an account?
How long does it usually take to move the server?
Do I have to down the current server first?
Thanks

Hi,
I figured out where to get it from. Will the upgrade key I have work with this version?

Hi,
Yes we are using Exchange 2003 and upgrading to version 4.1.6.

Do you know why it is not supported? It is my preference to just upgrade it where it is but I don't want to leave them without a Blackberry server for any longer than I have to.
Is it a simple process to upgrade and do you have to reboot the server?

BES isn't meant to be installed on a mail server. BPS, with its user limit is configured so that it cant tax the server too much. BES on the other hand doesn't have that user limit and it could in theory get out of control. Plus ... BES has some more functionality over BPS: http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/professional
Will it work, most likely yes. Have I done this successfully before, yes. Would I recommend it in most cases, no. I'm not a fan of putting someone into a scenario that isn't officially supported by the vendor ... even if I'm supporting them primarily.
That said, it is a simple in-place upgrade.
