BlackBerry ID

Hi All,

I have acquired a Z10 and am attempting to switch devices from a Curve 8520. Have been able to transfer the contacts using the link software but have been unable to transfer the BBM contacts. Have activated the same Black Berry id on the new device but only one group has transferred. Am still getting notifications on the old device but am unable to access them.

Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community.

Can you tell me what version of BBM you had installed on your BlackBerry Curve 8520 smartphone? What happens when you try to access BBM on it?

Hi FrankieS,

I had upgraded to BBM7 prior to doing the switch.

When I click on the BBM icon all I get is a blue screen.

On my home screen I am still receiving notifications of new BBM messages but am unable to access them.

Hey Weeds,

 

On your BlackBerry Curve 8520 smartphone, could you please try reinserting the battery then trying again to setup BBM?  If that doesn't help, could you please try to uninstall BBM 7 and then reinstall and try the setup again?

Restarted the curve and accessed BBM - it then says that my BlackBerry ID is associated with another device and is asking if I want to switch?

After I switched back to the curve and back to the Z10 it worked!

Hi All,

 

I have forgot both, my blackberry id password and answer to security question.
However am still using the e-mail address which was registered with my blackberry id.

But whenever i go to forgot password option it does not send password reset mail and

instead asks security question which is not leading to any solution.

Can you help how to get that e-mail which allows me to reset the password.

Alternatively, I have a backup from Toch 9810 (OS 7.1) and want to switch to Z10 (OS 10.1)

kindly suggest how can all data and BBM contacts can be transferred seamlessly.

Hi All,

 

I am having difficulty logging in to my Blackberry ID.

 

I entered my username and password and I was told that 'this is incorrect'. I then selected 'forgot password' and entered the correct answer to my security question. The message then read: 

 

  • The answer to the password recovery question is incorrect. Please try again.

There have been a number of failed attempts to authenticate with this BlackBerry ID Username and Password. This is your last attempt before the feature is locked.

 

PLEASE HELP ME URGENTLY AS I CANNOT DOWNLOAD WHATSAPP.

Hi YCON,

 

Welcome to the support community!

This KB article may help with unlocking your BlackBerry ID account if necessary. http://blackberry.com/btsc/KB24157
If you are unable to use the security question to reset the password, you would need to create a new BlackBerry ID, backup your BlackBerry smartphone to remove the current BlackBerry ID, then set it up with the new BlackBerry ID. You would then need to download your applications again from BlackBerry World and if you are using BBM 7, re-invite your BBM contacts to associate them with the new BlackBerry ID.
