Blackberry Link Peer Manager Has Stopped Working

Hello,

Sorry if this message has already been posted before, but I have downloaded the latest version of Blackberry Link (previous version worked fine) but just as the download is completed I receive a message telling me that Blackberry Link Peer Manager has stopped working and the programme basically cannot be used.
I use Windows Vista and have no such problems before.

Could you please let me know if this has happened before and what solutions there might be.

Thanks Glen.

Re: Blackberry Link Peer Manager Has Stopped Working

Hey BigBear6925,

Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.

Thanks for the question.

Do you get this error message when you're doing a specific action in BlackBerry Link?  Like transferring media or synchronizing data?

I look forward to your reply.

Cheers.

Re: Blackberry Link Peer Manager Has Stopped Working

Dear Mr. Ferret,

I receive this message when I am trying to download the Blackberry Link programme onto my Laptop.

I cannot actually load the programme at all as this message arrives at the backend of the download and shuts down the load.

Regards

Re: Blackberry Link Peer Manager Has Stopped Working

I have precisely the same problem... except that I've JUST received my new Z10 to replace my flooded (don't ask) Torch and have yet to be able to load my contacts into the Z10... or anything else.

I"ve rebooted.  Unintstalled,  CCleaned the registry, Rebooted.  Re-installed.
The message comes every time I open the programme.  The screen appears briefly... I think it's  a registration screen.... then fades with the "stopped working" message.
I let the computer sleep overnight and tried again (I know, that's stupid) and, surprise, it's still happening.

HELP!!!

Re: Blackberry Link Peer Manager Has Stopped Working

Hi Waterbuoy - I am still having the same problem and have done everything you have done as well. I have removed the programme, run CCleaner but the same problem every time. Just as the download is about to finish the peer manager stops working and the programme download closes. Makes it very difficult to back up (impossible) the phone and sync with MS Outlook.

BlackBerry please fix this as I know we are not the only ones with this problem.

Re: Blackberry Link Peer Manager Has Stopped Working

Hey all,

Sorry for the delay in replying.

To find the exact issue on why BlackBerry Link is crashing when trying to install, we are going to need to gather some logs from the PC.  Please contact your network service provider and ask to be transferred to BlackBerry for a case to be created so the logs can be investigated.

I do appreciate your patience.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

[ Edited ]

Is the "network service provider the same thing as the ...the local internet server?

What precisely do you need me to ask him to do? (I speak only English) :smileyhappy:

....sounds like youre telling me to ask that he transfer me to Blackberry....which makes no sense to me...

What, specifically needs tonbe transferred" to you...and how?

Thx

Re: Blackberry Link Peer Manager Has Stopped Working

Hey waterbuoy,

Network Service Provider is the wireless provider for your BlackBerry smartphone.  By having them transferring you to us (BlackBerry) we will be able to create a ticket to gather the logs and investigate them.

I do appreciate your patience.

Let me know if you have any further questions.
