How to create sound profiles on Z10 like previously done on BB7?

The sound profiles that were created on BB7, on my bold 9900 were excellent. I had them for most contacts and was able to add and remove contacts from these profiles on a whim. 

How do i do the same thing on the new Z10?

Add and delete contacts from the sound profile and set them up?

Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community.
The ability to create new Sound Profiles and add and remove contacts to and from that profile is not available on the BlackBerry Z10 smartphone. You can add custom notifications for contacts, by opening the contact in the Contacts application and choosing Edit. When you scroll down to the bottom of the page, you should see a Ring Tone and Notifications button. By selecting this, you can modify the notifications for specific contacts. Is there an application i can port over from android to fix this problem? 

I did disocver those alert settings however i wish they were more customizable; volume of sound played, 1,3,5,10 vibrations etc

On the new version of contact alerts does the song/sound commence after the vibrations have finished? at least with the text messages?

This does not work.  If you set a custom ringtone for a contact it will hold for about 10 minutes or until the phone is idle and goes to sleep mode. once idle  the custom ringtone you set for your contact will actually come through as the default you have set for email/sms/bbm notifications.  there is no way to make it hold.  BB know of the issue and they have known since February. there was a recent release that was supposed to fix it and it did not.
