No FLAC files recognized, from sd card?

[ Edited ]

Sorry if this has already been discussed, etc. But I have searched and not found a solution. Any help?

So all is well and this is not a HUGE problem, but curious.

#1...I really wish we could just choose a Music folder, or something, without being stuck with Windows Media or Itunes.

#2...In Link, it doesn't show the FLAC files that are located on my sd card.

I love, both, my Q10 & my Z10. It seems that this shouldn't be?

Thanks, in advance!

Re: No FLAC files recognized, from sd card?

OK, so no answers at all?

I'm now on a Z30 (Lovin it!) and the latest version of Link and my FLAC music files are still not being recognized, from the sd card.

Any thoughts?

Anybody not having this issue?

So, I've still had no response to this question.

I've also put some test flac files directly on the phone and BB Link doesn't see them either...

Re: No FLAC files recognized, from sd card?

I have searched for this answer as well but no luck.  I've tried putting a FLAC file into the Z30 and the PlayBook and neither one can detect it.  I came across an app called Neutron Music Player and it supposedly support FLAC files.  It cost $5.99 on BlackBerry World.

Re: No FLAC files recognized, from sd card?

My complaint is not about playing the files. The built in player plays FLAC files just fine. I do use Neutron for lots of reasons. My complaint is that the files are not seen in Blackberry Link.

Re: No FLAC files recognized, from sd card?

The only suggestion I found was to first open the Player you use on your computer to play those files.

Next open BB Link and last connect your phone, hope it works.

Re: No FLAC files recognized, from sd card?

It doesn't. Not a huge problem as I manage my music files with Media Monkey. It just seems like it should work like managing mp3 files.

What device(s) are you using to play the FLAC files?  I tried putting the FLAC files on my Z30 and PlayBook but I don't see them from my native music app.  If you're not able to see the files in the BlackBerry Link than how did you import the files to your device(s) and play them?
