Z10 on it's way - been trying to download BlackBerry Link software ready to sync contacts etc. BlackBerry Link version 1.0.0.71 from BlackBerry website.
Problem is self extracting winzip program starts but seems to hang in background while Installshield begins and runs to end before stopping, with message 'installation interrupted' etc. On other attempts got ' Error 1723 and message about missing 'DLL file'
Tried on two PC's both running Windows 7 - no success and very frustrated!

I've resolved the issue by uninstalling BlackBerry Desktop Software first

Don't want to loose my cool. long time BB user/supporter >>> pre-bought 2 BBZ10's 1 for wife 1 for me- p/u yesterday
Last night installed BB Link 100_b071_multilanguage.exe for Windows on my PC running Vista 64
install runs all the way and completes but when running BB Link after 30 or 45 seconds of wait it crashes.
Windows Problem Event Name: CLR20r3 <<< ANY IDEAS?
un-installed BB Link and also (after fact/no instructions) BB Desktop 7.0.0.59 same results after reinstall BB Link.
Key reasons for me to remain with BB is ability to sync with personal Outlook via PC not cloud.

Hey mweissx,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Thanks for the question.
After you installed BlackBerry Link was a restart completed on the computer? Also just to confirm, BlackBerry Desktop Software showed the same error as well?
We are definitely going to need to gather some log files from BlackBerry Link to find the root cause, I suggest contacting your network service provider and ask to be transferred to BlackBerry so we can gather these logs.
Thank you.

I've got exactly the same problem as the original post here. I'm trying to install on an acer desktop pc running Windows 7 64 bit.

Mr. ViciousFerret /BlackBerry Technical Advisor
Not sure how I missed your reply. Only noticed it now. I'm disappointed and frustrated. Z10's (x2) are in box and ready to be returned to Rogers. If I can't run BB Link and then USB sync my Outlook (all features), there's no benefit of staying BB loyal. OTA sync can be done with any other device.
To address your questions:
After installed BlackBerry Link restart completed on the computer.
BlackBerry Desktop Software worked perfectly for years.
I've uninstalled BBLink and reinstalled BB Desktop to continue sync with my Torch and wife's Bold.
How do recommend we gather log files from BlackBerry Link to find the root cause.
How error with your software (and my O/S) have anything to do with my ISP?

Thanks for the reply mweissx,
With regards to synchronization to Outlook and BlackBerry Z10, this blog post can assist you: http://helpblog.blackberry.com/2013/02/how-to-setu
Now to get the logs I will not be able to get them from the Forums, you will need to contact Rogers and asked to be transferred to BlackBerry and then we can gather them and investigate further.
Also your ISP wouldn't cause the software to fail.
I appreciate your patience.

I got the errors when installing the software and when i connected the phone link wouldn't connect, what i did was to go into control panel and device manager on my pc and the drivers weren't loading for the Z10 so i just right clicked the Z10 and told it to update the drives which it did and both work fine now.
That was on a Win7 Pro device, but is worth a try.
