Unable to Download BB Link to Mac

Hi. Am struggling with Q10 Link softwear for Mac. When I originally installed it, it wouldn'tg recognise my device so I uninstalled. Now whenever Itry and reinstall either from device or web I get a message "Download could not be verified". Very frustrating.

Re: Unable to Download BB Link to Mac

Hey HKJaps,

Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.

Thanks for the question.

I would suggest downloading the latest software bundle from www.blackberry.com/desktop and once the software is downloaded restart the Mac and then connect the BlackBerry Q10.

What version of Mac OS X are you running as well?

I look forward to your reply.

Cheers.

Re: Unable to Download BB Link to Mac

Thanks for the info. I managed to download it via the phone in the end but now the Q10 won't connect to Link. I have tried turning on/off, battery pull, laptop on and off but no joy. I did however manage to connect my old torch to pull all of it's data.

The only other thing i can think of is that I haven't activated the SIM (no surprises there really) but would that effect connectivity?

So, 5 days since turning it on I'm only 50% of the way there and not impressed.

Thankyou for your help

Re: Unable to Download BB Link to Mac

Hey HKJaps,

Thanks for the quick reply.

I'm a little confused, BlackBerry Link can not be installed on the BlackBerry smartphone, it can only be installed on a computer.  Can you clarify what you did?

SIM card activation would not cause it to connect.

I look forward to your reply, so we can figure out what is causing the issue.

Cheers.

Re: Unable to Download BB Link to Mac

OK Sorry for confusion. Here's what happened so far:

1. tried to download BB Link to Mac - no joy (as per original post). When I finally did every time i plugged my Q10 in my MAc told me I needed a new driver so I would try and download thinking it was an upadte. Thie normally crashed on around 30-40% downloaded.

2. Uninstalled from Mac, re attached Q10 downloaded Link from same "you need software..." message. All good. Link downloaded fine.

3. Synced old Torch with LInk. All good so far.

4. Reconnected Q10. Laptop acknowedges it's excistsnce but it doesn't connect. Just the wheel of death.

I'm kind of over it but your assistance is genuinely appreciated.

Thankyou

Re: Unable to Download BB Link to Mac

Hey HKJaps,

Thanks for the clarification.

I would highly suggest you uninstall BlackBerry Link from the Mac, and then restart the the computer.  Then keep the BlackBerry Q10 not plugged in and go to www.blackberry.com/desktop and download a new version of BlackBerry Link and then restart one last time and then connect the BlackBerry Q10 via USB and check to see if it is connecting and charging.

I look forward to your reply.

Cheers.
