Re: Using Link to import Calendar & Contacts to Z10

Let me add to my last post; I've been checking crackberry and am understanding that you can keep your emails for 30 days maximum; if this is true what moron decided on this arbitrary time, what's the use of having my emails with me if I can only have 30 days worth?? This is very poor judgement on bberry's part.

Moron? You really jump to conclusions, don't you?

According to the type of email server you have, you will (should) have the choice of syncing email for 7, 30, 90 days or foreever. It varies with our email server type.

Anyway, no longer is email "stored" locally on the device, it is synced with your email server.

You can 'file' email you want saved for reference, flag it to Remember, and other things.

Re: Using Link to import Calendar & Contacts to Z10

I only see "initial retrieval amount" of 7, 14 and 30 days... I'm trying again to get this Q10 where I can use it, i switched from my 8900 to my 9300 then now to the Q10; where do I set my forever setting?? I use an IMAP server with emails maintained forever

Re: Using Link to import Calendar & Contacts to Z10

Like I said, not all email servers handle it the same way.

When set up the account initially, on the Z10, you will be given the choices.

Re: Using Link to import Calendar & Contacts to Z10

I have a Q10 not a Z10, is there a difference in the OS and functionality because I can see nothing for advanced email settings anywhere? I will see if the local Rogers outlet here in Waterloo can help, as much as I like this device I will dump it if I can't have full email accessibility.

Is the keep forever option possibly only a BES option now? If so as a small business owner I am toast :-(

Re: Using Link to import Calendar & Contacts to Z10

Returned the Q10 to Rogers, they couldn't find the keep forever option for emails either. I'll stay with pre OS10 hardware until bberry gets their act together for business users, 30 days of emails is pretty much usless unless I revert to carrying my laptop with me everywhere, that being said I think I might buy a Samsung Galaxy Tablet for the fun stuff and saving files.

Re: Using Link to import Calendar & Contacts to Z10

Like I said, it's all according to the type of email server you have.

BlackBerry doesn't control what your mail server offiers.

I have the forever sync option. Gmail does. Others do. I don't know what you have.

We tried it on Rogers email, you know, one of your carriers here in Canada; would not come up.

You're mistaking me for a BlackBerry employee... we are only users like yourself, in this forum.

Re: Using Link to import Calendar & Contacts to Z10

I've had at least 3 tickets open on this issue - all of which have been closed without resolution. I have tried Windows 8.1 systems as well as Windows 7 systems. Same problems on both systems. I have spent the equivelent of several days of man hours on this with tech support, provided at least 5 log dumps from all my systems as well as the Z10 and still, no resolution. Been fighting this since January.  I have even tried deinstalling reinstalling Link on all systems several times. Tried synching contacts only or calendar only. Nothing woirks.

Have a nice day.
