Anyone had success activating iOS or Android device yet?

I was able to get everything installed and successfully activated the Playbook, but anytime I try and activate an iPad or Galaxy device I receive an activation error.  It does not even get to a point where I can enter the username and password.

Hi Dawgboy, can you let us know the steps you're taking and at what point the error comes up?

Re: Anyone had success activating iOS or Android device yet?

I have logged onto the UDS console, added the user and received the activation email.  Moved over to both separate devices and installed the Fusion client.  Open client and entered server address.  When I click next, it shows verifying server (I do get a msg about certificate not trusted but I am able to continue past that).  After about 2 min, I get activation error.

Re: Anyone had success activating iOS or Android device yet?

Is your certificate from a certificate authority?

Per the install guide, "You must provide an SSL certificate when you install the Communication Module. You should use an SSL certificate that is issued by a certification authority that is already trusted by iOS devices and Android devices. If you choose to use an SSL certificate that is not trusted by iOS devices by default, you must provide the certification authority certificate to the user to install as a trusted root certificate before the user can activate any iOS devices. If you choose to use an SSL certificate that is not trusted by Android devices by default, the user receives a warning that the certificate for the server is not trusted when the user activates any Android devices. The user has the option to continue with activation or return to the Mobile Fusion Client home screen. The Universal Device Service does not support self-signed certificates."

Hope it helps.

Re: Anyone had success activating iOS or Android device yet?

Hello - I am trying to get this to work with iOS devices and I am failing getting the CA to returjn the correct certificate. Can anyone suggest a CA provider which works at a reasonable price as I have tried the free trails and they don't seem to work.

So I am stuck trying to complete the cvertificate signing request

Kind Regards,

rapidSSL is quite affordable for GeoTrust root CA.

Re: Anyone had success activating iOS or Android device yet?

Hello - I have managed to get a cert from a proper CA but when I try to connectan iPAD, when running the App on the IP it connects, I type the username and password, it tells me that it has to install a cert and then responds with cannot activate try again later. Any ideas what I should do?

If you haven't done so already, you could try removing the Mobile Fusion app from the device (or factory defaulting it) and also deleting the user from UDS. I've encountered a similar situation to you on occasion wherein the 2 sides just don't want to communicate properly until everything is effectively reset.
